We are seeking a Material Master Data Specialist to develop and optimise processes related to material master data management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of material master data principles and supply chain concepts, ensuring that our data processes align with industry best practices and organisational needs. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable with material data integration, including the seamless connection of material master data processes with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP) to optimize data flow and support operational efficiency across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and refine processes for the creation, management, and governance of material master data, ensuring consistency and accuracy, and applying the material master data principles to the specific needs of the business.
  • Develop and enforce standards for material descriptions, units of measure, material classifications, and other critical data fields to ensure uniformity across all systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure that material master data processes are seamlessly integrated into enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant software.
  • Create detailed documentation of material master data processes and provide training to relevant stakeholders to ensure proper adherence.
  • Regularly review and improve material master data processes to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and support the company’s evolving needs.
  • Implement metrics and reporting systems to monitor data quality and address any inconsistencies or errors in material master data.

Must-haves

  • A Bachelor's in Information Systems, Business Administration, or any other related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in material data management or related role
  • Experience in creation and documentation of material master data processes and guidelines
  • Experience with ERP systems and data management tools
  • Responsible for specification and implementation of concepts for master data maintenance in at least two independent projects
  • Knowledge of material management processes, principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
